I am a recent MASc. (2023) and B.Eng. (2021) graduate from the Engineering Systems and Computing program at the University of Guelph. For my MASc. thesis, I led a government-funded research project which saw the novel application of Stochastic Deep Neural Networks for path planning of mobile robots. This project was very successful, as the two planners designed reliably planned paths faster than competing planners. The paper showcasing my work is currently under review. I have also authored and published two conference papers outside of school, and my first journal paper is under review.
Throughout my academic journey, I've also had opportunities to gain valuable work experience in diverse areas of engineering. The areas which I am most experienced in are ROS (Python and C++), Java Development, Neural Network design with PyTorch and Jax, Controls Design, and PLC Programming.
Through my experiences, I have learned demonstrable communication, leadership, and teamwork skills. I have a proven track record of applying these skills to lead large, multi-faceted projects to success.
In my free time, I enjoy building robots, cycling, travelling and working on cool and interesting personal projects. I am currently working on a small, autonomous mobile robot which I am building from scratch. Two of the coolest projects I've worked on in the past are repurposing a microwave transformer as a welder, and using pool chemicals to melt a seized seat post from my bike!
I am always interested in meeting new people, learning new things, and making new connections. Let's connect.
